Transforming Leadership in Pharma

About Narativ

At Narativ, we believe storytelling is a critical tool for leadership, trust-building, and influence. Through our structured methodology, developed over 30 years and applied globally, we help leaders articulate their purpose, create deeper connections, and communicate with authenticity. Our approach is rooted in listening, personal narrative, and lived experience, making it particularly powerful in scientific and corporate environments where trust and engagement are essential.

Our work with pharmaceutical executives and patients has shown us that many professionals in this field are driven by profound personal experiences, which motivate them to dedicate their careers to finding cures for illness and saving lives.

Similarly, Narativ’s origin is rooted in co-founder Dr. Murray Nossel’s work with AIDS patients in the early 1990s, where he saw firsthand how storytelling could transform lives, create advocacy, and bring about change. It is this shared commitment to purpose-driven storytelling that makes our work in pharma so meaningful.

The Narativ Approach

Our method differentiates itself by combining deep listening with structured storytelling.
Unlike other programs that focus solely on presentation skills or personality-based storytelling styles, we guide participants to uncover their authentic narratives through:

Two stick figures in red outline, one standing with an outstretched arm, the other appearing to reach towards the first figure's hand, suggesting a handshake.

Listening as
the foundation

Creating a space for genuine
stories to emerge.

Three people sitting at a table, discussing geometric shapes: triangle, circle, and square, depicted by icons above them.

Deep story
excavation

Identifying personal experiences
that connect to professional purpose.

Building trust and
influence

Helping leaders frame and communicate their work in a way
that resonates.

This approach is especially relevant to pharma, where narratives must address public
misperceptions, communicate scientific challenges, and reinforce a shared mission.

Next Steps

We propose an initial session with key Sanofi leaders
to experience the Narativ methodology firsthand.

This would serve as a foundation for broader engagement, allowing participants to see the immediate impact of storytelling on leadership and influence.

We appreciate the opportunity to circulate this brief and look forward to discussing how we can tailor this further for Sanofi’s leadership and communication goals.
