Obstacle of the Week #3

Here’s another obstacle: having to make a choice. In preparation for a workshop, I had to think of a story. Memories started to emerge in my mind and the process was very exciting. But toward the end of the process, I realized I had to make a decision: which parts would I need to cut? Which parts could I keep in or elaborate on? Would my choice be the right one? The wrong one? Judgments and evaluative arguments popped into my mind and my listening was no longer present for me and my story. So I had to work to release this obstacle, and when I did, gratitude emerged. I began to feel grateful for my life experiences and the opportunity to share some of them with a client. Why? Because I knew it would help them to be inspired to tell stories. And it worked!
